The Left Hand of Darkness
by Ursula K. Le Guin
very plot driven, definitely not character driven enough for me. my favourite part was when estraven sauntered into prison, picked genly ai up like a sack of potatoes, and simply carried him out of there. i think that (and the ensuing journey across the ice) is when i genuinely started enjoying this book. speaking of estraven, no one told me he DIES.
