I was super into this book at first because the driving factor of the moon exploding was aemi-feasiblr & there were female astronauts featured as main characters (!!). However, they easily become unengaging & it's just so obvious that a man wrote these women. Additionally, I love knowing some of the details in sci fi, but there were far too many included in this one & it really bogged down the story.
Seveneves begins with a catastrophic event: the moon shatters, triggering a countdown to the end of life on Earth due to an impending meteor storm. As humanity scrambles to survive, a group of scientists and astronauts work to establish a sustainable human presence in space, facing immense technical, political, and personal challenges. Spanning thousands of years, the novel ultimately explores the rebirth of civilization and the evolution of humanity in a transformed solar system.
