I wanted to love this so badly, but unfortunately it’s a mess. The jumping POV’s (different in each part of the book), the scant, CONFUSING worldbuilding, the lack of through line even at the very end…50 pages of “oh okay that’s how everything is connected” can’t make up for 500 pages of “what the actual fuck is anyone talking about.” I know every character will leave my mind the second I pick up my next book because we barely got to spend time with any one person. I’m sure if I had read this when the next book was published, it would “all come together” at some point. But this is a debut and I have to judge it as such. All of that to say, I didn’t enjoy this puzzle of a book.
