The Tombs of Atuan
by Ursula K. Le Guin
At first I wasn't entirely sure I was going to enjoy this second book as much as I did the first, but in-fact, I might have enjoyed it more. This book was a huge contrast to the first in a number of ways, and how smooth that difference felt made me appreciate the mastery of this series in a whole new way. Tenar proves to be a suprisingly deep and interesting character, and in my opinion, the themes conveyed in this book came off more smoothly and hit with more impact than the themes of AWoE (book one) did.
