Cleopatra VII: Daughter of the Nile, Egypt, 57 B.C. by Kristiana Gregory
4.0
This is another one that I read before giving to my niece. I loved this series as a kid and thought she might enjoy them as well. Cleopatra definitely starts a little bit slower than Elizabeth, but it was a really great book overall. The story is a really good one and Cleopatra is obviously a very compelling character.
Evidently, though, my niece started reading it last night and when she was just a couple pages in she asked her mom what a eunuch was, so maybe my prereading these for her didn't do that much good after all. :D
