The House of Silk by Anthony Horowitz

3.0

After reading Magpie Murders and The Word is Murder I was SO excited to read this book. I absolutely devoured those two books and couldn’t get enough Anthony Horowitz. I picked up this one excited to read his take on the world of Sherlock Holmes and found... it was a bit of a struggle.

I had a hard time getting into the story and keeping myself engaged. I also found myself just so... annoyed at what I took to be Watson’s constant bewilderment at anything and everything Sherlock did. I haven’t read any of the original Sherlock Holmes stories so I’m not sure if that’s how they normally are.

I’ll be sticking with this authors other murder mystery stories but I’d recommend this to anyone who loves murder mysteries and is a fan of Sherlock Holmes.
