Yellowface by R.F. Kuang

3.75

It's hard to spend this much time with an anti-hero, but R.F. Kuang does reward. As people who are like June simply will not clock the jabs, it's really for Asian diaspora readers, and I love R.F. Kuang for this. In a way, it feels cartoonishly simple in narrative style and structure, like a Scooby Doo episode, but it feels right given who June is.
