The Wizard's Butler: Book 1 by Nathan Lowell, Nathan Lowell

5.0

A veteran and former EMT, Roger Mulligan takes a career change as a butler to old and wealthy Mr. Shackleton. Mulligan doesn't believe Shackleton's claim that he's a wizard until he meets the pixies.

I can't even tell you why I liked this book so much, except that I did. The writing was very good. The plot was low-key but still fun to read. Most of the book focused on Mulligan's everyday activities as he learned to care for Shackleton House, and him helping Mr. Shackleton in their efforts to thwart Shackleton's niece in her efforts to inherit the house. Not a hint of romance, and very little intense action. Just a fun, relaxing read.

Content: A couple instances of strong language, and brief references to a past incident of domestic violence. A very clean PG-13
