The 100 by Kass Morgan

5.0

I found and fell face-flat in love with the show first and then devoured all the books in rapid concession, so that nigh-obsessive emotional bond with the world of the 100 definitely adds a star or two to my rating. I don't think I am able to rate this book critically, when the characters feel so real and close to me.
Trying my hardest to put the biased full-of-feels brain aside, this is still a pretty solid dystopian science fiction young adult story with action, death, love and heart-ache. It is exciting and makes me feel things. The setting appeals to me; I am very into the building-a-new-society-from-scratch -type dystopian trope. There are so many different ways to execute this particular trope and it is fascinating to read different takes on it. I wish there were more books, there is so much that could still be explored and evolved.
