While I did enjoy this I didn't particularly like how the relationship between Jade and Franny started out. Jade was so mean, it began to border on bullying, and even when the traumatic experiences that made her like that were revealed I—as a black woman also–found it hard to get past it. Throughout the book, up until the 60% mark, the characters especially Jade didn't read as adult characters and it just felt like Franny was constantly playing catch-up to get into Jade's good graces. 

I liked the end though, they were really cute.
