This was such a good read, so so beautiful and heartbreaking. I never cry when reading, but this book made me tear up. The start was a bit slow, but once I got over it, I literally devoured the book. Some parts of the book were a bit too graphic for my taste, but it did evoke a lot of strong emotions.
This book is a heartbreaking story about two women, both with different family backgrounds and born in different generations, adn how they were brought together by cruel fate due to being in a war stricken country. The story is set between the period of 1960 to 2000s in Afghanistan.
I definitely sobbed at some of the parts of the story and the characters from this book (Mariam and Laila) bought have my entire heart
