Desperate Measures (Wicked Villians #1) - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Review:
After reading and loving Desperate Measures, I was super excited to continue on with this series. Katee Robert does a fantastic job of creating likable characters and making these books so easy to read and get lost in.
This book follows Meg and Hades, two characters we've met in the first book. Hades and Meg were super compelling and complex. I really enjoyed learning more about these two and watching their relationship grow over the course of this book. Adding Hercules to this to this relationship made everything so much better. Finding out why Hades opted to include Hercules in this ménage à trois was really interesting as well.
I enjoyed learning more about Olympus and reading more about how Robert created a unique contemporary world with ties to these beloved Disney characters. I'm so excited to continue on to the additional books in the series and continue to watch this world grow.
I think my only issue with this book is that many of the plot points mirrored the first book and reading them so close really highlighted this. There were similar communication issues with Meg and Hades as there were with Jasmine and Jafar. Also the climax of both books followed similar plot beats.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and am excited to read more in this series. Robert has created compelling interpretations of these classic Disney characters and I can't wait to read more. The sex scenes are so well done, the plot is intriguing, and these books are fantastic escapist reads. If you're into BDSM romance books, Disney retellings, or if you're just looking for a short escapist read.
