Model Misfit by Holly Smale
4.0
This book is defiantly an improvement and is much better than the first book. This book has a range of attributes which make it better such as the story line, the characters and development.
Harriet has grown up between this book and the last one and she is some what more human and less geeky. Also Nick had become less two dimensional and is more believable and therefore becomes more of an essential character to the story.
Unfortunately, there was less of Harriet's best friend Nat, which fitted with the story line but I loved the way Nat gave humor to the story in the last book. Also, Harriet's Dad needed to be in it more as I felt that he as well as Nat gave a humor and the care towards Harriet into the story which was lost when both of them play little part in this story.
However with the loss of these character, we have gained a new character Harriet's chaperoning and comical Grandma, who takes over Harriet's Dad's job. Although, leaves Harriet to her own devices for most of the story, when she does appear, she deals with Harriet's problem with a comical wisp.
The story line was a great improvement on the previous book and as Holly Smale get more experience at writing she become into her own. The story line is quite similar to the previous book and was very predictable.
Overall, this book was a great bit of light chick flick fiction, which make you unable to put the book down. Harriet is a great character who makes you laugh out loud which her witty comments. After reading this book it is making me want to grab for the next book in this Geek Girl series
