Erasure by Percival Everett

4.25

I loved Erasure. Percival Everett is such a thoughtful and satirical writer. I wanted to read this before watching the movie adaptation. Understandable some things were going to have to change, as this book has a book within a book, which would not work on screen. Monk is a unique character and can be quite unlikeable and times, but I found his relationship with his family the most rewarding part of this book. I was sad to hear his sister's story is quite different in the movie, as I found it quite moving in the book. Plus, having the book based in DC and recognizing many of the locations Everett writes about was fun. Yeah, this book was great, and I'll be recommending to others.
