The Girls' Guide to Hunting and Fishing by Melissa Bank

2.0

This book was a very easy read for me and I finished it in two sittings. The book is composed of many different excerpts of Jane's life, which kept it interesting, but left me hanging a little bit. Truthfully, at the end of the novel, I didn't feel like I really knew Jane. After putting the book down for an evening and picking up the next day, I had a difficult time remembering what had happened in the last chapter/story since the two did not necessarily posess any common links. I thought Jane was cute, funny, and real (for the most part), but I personally enjoy a more continuous storyline.

There is no doubt in my mind, however, that Banks is a very talented writer. There were many times that I laughed out-loud, noticed her changing writing-style, and didn't want to put down the book. The individual stories themselves were great, but the whole big picture and "lesson"? Hm...So-so.
