Prince & Knight by Daniel Haack

5.0

There are many times I wish we lived in different times, but then I read a book like that and am just so happy we live in a time where picture books like this one exist. A lovely story about a prince who has to marry and while this is a fairy tale, he doesn't want to marry a princess. Told in short, fun rhymes and accompanied by lovely pictures that are somewhat reminiscent of Disney but not quite as smooth, this is a wonderful book. I'm not quite the target audience, but it made me smile and happy, so there's that, and I think it's a great story to read to kids from age 3-4, I'd say.

I love the picture book about the gay penguins, but I also think it's not a bad idea to tell stories like this one featuring people as well, since kids are more likely to encounter LGBTQIA people than penguins. (Unless they live in some kind of penguin commune, which might not be such a bad thing.)
