4.9 I wasn't expecting or hoping for another A Little Life, so I wasn't disappointed when this was different. Agree that the three stories seem like three separate books she just couldn't finish so she cobbled them together. It was very faintly reminiscent of a David Mitchell structure but unfortunately without the payoff he always delivers. The 2nd book was the weakest for me but still poignant. Hanya can be problematic but I find her books compulsively readable.
