this book is quite interesting bc it's definitely not my usual reading pick and was 100% out of my comfort zone. the biggest thing i loved would probably how poetically and beautifully everything is written - there's something so tragically beautiful abt the way the author writes abt the story that it makes the story seem even more profound. literary wise it's definitely a push for my reading skill and it was nice to push myself out of my comfort zone. however: the number of times boobs/butt was mentioned was sooooo tiring oh my god. esp when he was describing fusako. like please. i get it, she's pretty now can we move on PLS. like ik the book symbolises sexual awakening and other themes but.. did we really have to do a freud? like did we really? some parts the book or ig the characters/story was a bit inusufferable (esp the friend group) and i was fr rooting for ryuki and fosako. they're so cute but the ending fr left me heartbroken. the second i read abt the kitten chapter i KNEW this was gonna be all shades of fucked up. i mean overall beautifully written, some flaws but i think great for deeper analysis/study (the reason why i read this book in the first place was for my lit class lmfao).
