Dead Inside by Chandler Morrison

5.0

A man consumed with the darkest licentiousness aimlessly meanders through life fulfilling his deepest perversions. He's able to accomplish this fucked-up exploration of self-discovery because of his job as a night shift hospital security guard. Things seem to be going smoothly for this utterly depraved individual until he meets a vile woman even more fucked-up then he is. They find a connection through their deviance and quickly things begin to escalate. They are on a journey together into the lurid recesses of societal norms and there is no turning back.

Dead Inside is THE most unsettling, disturbing, and outrageous book I have ever (or will ever) read. That is until I pick up his other book, Along the Path of Torment. Yes, you read that right. This book is horribly revolting but this author is so unbelievably talented that I can't stop myself from reading more. Chandler Morrison writes such compelling and eloquent horror that readers could almost forget what they are actually reading about. I will say this, if you can look past what's happening on the surface of the story you will absolutely love the author and the bleak tale he crafted. There is no trigger warning out there that can prepare you for the horrors that lay waiting within this book.
