I loved these two main characters together, and this story hit a perfect balance between steamy scenes and romantic development. The banter was really great, and there was a lot of humor without becoming too unserious. The side characters were all really fun and charming. I liked how the book handled the decision over whether to stay in the small town or go back to the big city, with both characters independently coming to the realization that the small town is what they really want for themselves and their careers . I also liked how there was drama/conflict towards the end without resorting to a true third-act breakup . Their eventual love declarations were so sweet and romantic and are some of the best ones I've read so far.
There were a few minor issues with the book. It kept forgetting whether it was September or October and switching back and forth between the two. There's a kid character who acted and spoke more like he was 10 to 12 years old, and I was surprised to discover he was actually supposed to be 6.
This book was amazing, and I look forward to reading the rest of the series to see all the relationships that were being set up in this book!
