The Iron Raven by Julie Kagawa
3.0
Wahhhh!! This is one of my older Netgalley titles and I'm so glad I've finally gotten around to finishing it! And starting the series
This is another 3 ⭐ read and idk if it's just that I've devoted a whole book to the story but I do feel like I have to finish the series now? (Book 2 is also on my Netgalley backlog LOL). I don't especially have strong feelings for the story or characters but the story is like...finding yourself eating something regularly that you once said you'd never eat? 😂 Ok, maybe not so drastic but it's a series that grows on you
In this book we follow the story via Puck's POV. Puck is a jester, a prankster, and he's been around long enough to make a name for himself, not just in the fae world, but the human world too. But his reputation isn't all smiles and giggles. Once his real name Robin Goodfellow struck fear and anger in the hearts of creatures and after battling a mysterious monster bent on destroying the fae realms, Robin Goodfellow is back, horns and hairy hooves and all. Now he and his friends have to journey around the realm to stop this creature while also having no idea how to defeat it!
Puck is a character that's easy to like and I think that's what got me. But there's so much history between the characters (from previous books)! And not all of it is fun or to my liking (love triangles, ick). Still, the book ends with some unexpected? events so I'm curious what will happen next
For the "beginning" of a new series (new arc I think is more accurate), this was ok
