Someday, Someday, Maybe by Lauren Graham
3.0

As an audio book, Lauren Graham brought her natural charm and delivery to make this a more enjoyable listen than I suspect it would have been (for me) as a read. Franny was meant to be very funny and witty, and truly, Lauren Graham’s delivery is key to this. It was light, quick, predictable.

I appreciated the strong deployment of the Get A Grip Friend, in the form of the roomie. Every story of 20-somethings needs that character. (Every 20-something in life needs that person.) And I appreciated the 90s setting. You could tell this was a life Lauren had experienced. (Kids, we had to use PAY PHONES when we were out and needed to talk to someone. Parents couldn’t see the point of answering machines and left the most bizarre messages. People used FAX MACHINES as a way to quickly transmit the written word. Smoking was everywhere, by everyone, as were efforts to quit, which promptly failed when you were in your twenties. Etc, etc, etc.)
