Sleeping Beauties
by Owen King, Stephen King
This was a fascinating and disturbing read on many levels. What happens if all the women go to sleep? The small Appalachian town of Dooling is about to find out. With men expressing a range of emotions and beliefs (from this is God's doing because women wear pants now to an urge to kill themselves without their loved ones), two warring groups emerge - the police vs. the prison officers. And what happens when they come to blows is only half the story - whether or not the women decide to come back from their female-dominated world is a whole other part of this book. Whether or not you enjoy the story, it definitely examines some of the crucial social issues happening today.
