anemonehepatica 's review for:
At Bertram's Hotel
by Agatha Christie
I wasn't all blown away by Christie's great mind this time and in my opinion the book was a little too slow paced. However, I did enjoy the atmosphere in the book. Old, edwardian London in the London of the sixties. And though some people dislike being able to guess the murderer correctly, I get this amazing thrill of feeling like a genius for getting it right (as long as it doesn't happen all the time) and this book gave me what I wanted. Some light reading and the illusion of being smart. A book doesn't always need comedy to be light.
