The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl by Issa Rae

3.0

First, I “met” Issa through her show Insecure, which is excellent. I love watching it. And one of the things I love is the sound of her voice and how she navigates her worlds with those voices. So while I liked the book, I’m sure I would have liked it better as an audiobook (which I never get). I did really enjoy hearing about her life growing up. I just wish she had come over and told me herself.
