This was just meh. I’ve read about 4-5 McFadden books so far and each one is truly a twisted experience. But one thing you’ll always get unfortunately is around the 75% mark things are revealed and then you watch the crumble happen. Because of this formula I can’t read her books back to back.
This story was interesting but the ending was very blah. The twist happened and the crumble wasn’t that mind boggling. You do get a dual timeline, and at first it was really odd being in her brain while she’s relearning everything. But then pieces start coming together and you see the story and where it’s going.
