rarudd1 's review for:
The Woman They Could Not Silence
by Kate Moore
I'm torn on this book. I'm a little tired of the woman who is oppressed by her horrible husband and then rises up to be a great hero story, however I really did like this book. I couldn't help but love the "get back up again" attitude of the main character.
I was also fascinated by the treatments described by those who were trying to "help" the insane. The treatments draw a stark parallel for me to today's treatment of those who have gender disforia.
I recommend for 15 and up.
