Smoke and Shadow, Part 1 by Bryan Konietzko, Michael Dante DiMartino, Gene Luen Yang

5.0

I did love to see Mei’s prime role in the first issue. Seems like one of the best the Avatar had to offer, since I read the comics. Probably, she would top second to my favorite characters. Rather because I like how cold and detached she was, yet she was still caring and sweet in the very subtle way, or much apparent in between. And, oh, yeah she gave me this sister vibes since Nancy Wheeler.
The gang wasn’t present in the middle of the conflict to the end except the start, though I was still exultant to see the others characters, especially Iroh!
And what really made me tickle here, right at my Achilee’s heel, is ZUKO! GOD HE WAS SO—-I CAN’T THINK OF THE RIGHT WORDS, BUT ZUKO, PLEASE EAT MY HEART! I’LL SACRIFICE IT WITH VERY MUCH WILLINGNESS!
