DNF :(
I give up :*(
Edit 06/Jan/2014
So I decided to give this another go. I was in a bit of a book slump the last time I tried and felt I hadn't given it a fair go.
But as it came up again in a series challenge I thought I would give it another go and the fact that there are so many high rating reviews for this surely meant it was my frame of mind & not the book......
I am filled with regret.
I am now in another book slump and it is due to this book.
I feel so confused.
Did I read a different book to everybody else??????? Surely I did!!!!!!!!
Um no....oh OK.
SO,
JJ to me was shallow, immature the whole way through, boy mad and just an all round not very likeable heroine.
I get that she was supposed to be that way in the early stages and there was a point at in or around 30% where something monumental happened and I thought;
"A ha!! Eureka! This is it, the point where we have to had to put up with her immaturity & shallowness so we can see her grow as a character"
I was so so sooooo wrong. She was even thinking about the dreamy hot doctor & the boy she had just kissed etc etc etc. What.The.Actual.
And it just kept going down hill from there.
But I kept going, cause I'm a trooper like that. Or a glutton for punishment...I always get those 2 confused.
And did nobody else get irritated at the constant forcing of the phrase "that boy" into sentences that they just didn't belong??????
No.....oh just me then :(
Danny was Danny & Philip was Philip.
I didn't care one whit about either of them.
Whatever about Danny, Philip was so one dimensional.
I barely knew anything about either of them aside from that they were "Hot", with nice arm muscles and abs and muscles and were cute and did I mention "Hot"!
I am afraid that I will not be continuing on with this series. Nor do I think will I be reading more by this author as I just don't think the writing style is for me.
I would of course like to say at this time before I get stoned to death that this is just my personal opinion & to each his or her own and all that jazz. :)
I give up :*(
