I was soreley tempted to throw the book across the room as I read the last words.

A few years ago I probably would have scoffed at the depiction of the southern Christian Fundamentalist lifestyle that is the background of this book, but having seen recent news stories, I just have to shake my head and commiserate with the characters. Pace was medium throughout the book but picked up rapidly for the last few chapters. I can't say it was an enjoyable read; challenging certainly and satisfying,
despite the ending
