That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon is a light, fun, silly (in a good way) read. The story centers around Cinnamon who, in a drunken stupor, saved Fallon, a stunningly gorgeous demon who keeps losing his shirt. Through bad luck, Cinnamon (called Cin) finds herself accompanying Fallon on a mission to destroy the power source of a false goddess.
The story is told with its tongue firmly ensconced in its cheek. It is filled with humor (though some of it misses the mark) and a wink and nudge. The plot is basic, a means to force Cin and Fallon to spend time together, eventually leading to sexy times. The characters were mostly okay – I did like the fact that Cinnamon had no desire to be a hero/go on a quest, her primary focus being food.
This is a quick read, a perfect palate cleanser between larger/epic books.
