Heaven

This was a struggle - an unbelievable, painful struggle. I am so happy that its is over. The only saving grace was the writing - I love her writing, just not this story. I’ve never been one to throw around “toxic masculinity” or felt so whitewashed or wrapped up in ancient gender roles. Why do all YA fantasy novels need to be a trilogy (at the minimum)? This whole lot of nothing would have been fine if it was all jam-packed into “Halo”. We didn’t need half of the events that dragged it out into three books, or the cringey “well I guess you’re a man so you have a future, how about I just talk about babies and never do anything useful with the celestial life that I was blessed with?” Thank God (hehehe) I didn’t throw my money away buying this series.
