Fortune Hunter
by Ava March
The more I read m/m romances, the more I fall in love with them. They are just as angsty and emotional as m/f romances and in my opinion, the sex is hotter!
I loved the first book in this series, Thief, and was anxious to read Fortune Hunter. Oscar is extremely wealthy but lonely. He's extremely kind and his relatives and friends take his kindness for granted. Julian is returning to London after living in America. He is one of "those" Parkers and is determined to find himself a wealthy young lady to marry. Julian is tired of being the poor relation to Benjamin (who we met in the first book) and feels that the only way to improve his station in life is to marry rich. Too bad he's attracted to men but Julian figures that's a minor detail and won't let it deter him from his goal...until he meets Oscar.
I enjoyed Fortune Hunter but not as much as I thought I would. I felt that we never truly got to know Julian. His motivation was clear but beyond that, he was still somewhat of an enigma. Oscar, on the other hand, is such a sweet and loving person that you can't help but want him to be happy. He wears his heart on his sleeve and it pained me to see how people took his kindness for granted.
Of course, there are some smoking hot sex scenes. Ava March does not disappoint in that area. The ending was pretty abrupt. I couldn't believe that the story was over. I was expecting some hot makeup sex or something.
Fortune Hunter is a good read and a nice addition to the series. Even though the book was a little disappointing, I still liked it.
