I'm so mad. Another novel ending with someone writing the book you're reading!? Thanks for nothing Ian mcewan. I get that you wanted to experiment with the narrative form and talk about what it means to be a writer and a reader, but I saw your big reveal coming a mile away and I get that it makes your point about the theme but I'm so tired of books ending this way. Yes, this is the rare occurrence where it is needed, but I just can't. You made me dislike all the other parts of the book that were interesting.
And while the story is from Serena's perspective did you write it purposefully weakly to show us that your rookie author was writing it? Did you make it slightly slow and bad because that's how Tom would have written it?
