Willow: Novel
by Wayland Drew
five stars.
Loved this film when i was younger, i have lost count of the amount of times i have seen it. Maybe once a year since i was 12-13, i am now 37. No i am not joking with that. And up till now i have never thought of reading the book, but i am so glad i have now.
The deleted scenes from the film with Sorsha and her father are in the book and add a nice added subplot to the main story. As well with the Franjean memories of Madmartigan and how he lost his honor and to be at the crossroad cages! All these add to the story greatly. It's a shame they had to be cut from the film.
Such a great adventure of a book start to finish! The characters and environments are rich, the battle scenes not drawn out and are quick fire which they would of been. For me, up there with the epic adventure of lord of the rings and harry potter.
I am not sure if i will go and read the three books after this, the sequels to Willow- the shadow war books. Maybe in 2024!
