Probably a dead average book. I mean it’s good, don’t get me wrong, but I didn’t feel attached to any of the characters besides Whitt. He’s a good guy and I liked him a lot, the others just annoy me a little bit to be honest.

I enjoyed some aspects of both of the investigations, but in the end I got bored of the one with the Dr being murdered. I think it fell a little flat and I didn’t like that
Harriet was supposed to be focusing on the case of the missing daughter and granddaughter and that was the only reason for her getting out of prison, just for her to focus all of her energy on the prison doctor case.

It’s also so unsurprising that she would be in love with Whitt just as he is with her, but for her to deny him of a relationship because she’s “too chaotic”. Feel like that’s a standard in a book like this.

All in all, it was good but I can’t say a lot about it without a bucket load of spoilers. That being said it isn’t one of the best crime novels I’ve read, and I probably wouldn’t recommend it but it’s definitely easy and quick to read.
