Do you like complex worldbuilding ala Yoon Ha Lee? Layered characters ala Tamsym Muir? Intricate politics ala Dune? This is the book for you!

This a world where AI’s create city states, each unique in their functioning and design, a projection of the relationship between the inhabitants and the AI. But corruption strikes and when they die, the AI drags everything and everyone with them.

Sunai not only survived the corruption of his AI, but he can’t die. He has spent the last seventeen years trying to forget/run/change using drugs, alcohol, and men. But one more mission sends him back home, falling/already in love with Veyadi and not completely aware of the Doctor's plans. Old and new friends and foes, scheme to gain control of what remains of the AI city and keep their independence from the Harbor expansion.

It’s a complex world, incredibly solid and detailed. Where politics, religion, duty and love collide and intertwine through characters that are stubborn, pitiful, adorable idiots in love and really good friends with good intentions and bad actions.

My only but it’s the constant change of the narrative voices, and don’t take me wrong I love it! BUT. Inglis it’s my second language and I think I miss some nuances and some characters' perspectives. It’s good that I have planned to reread it when it goes on sale in June!
