This has been on my TBR for quite a while and given how short it is, I can't believe it's taken me this long to get to it. I haven't had the best of luck with classic horror stories but I enjoyed this one. It was quick and creepy, just what I wanted out of it. It is a Victorian classic, so the writing is a little dense but I was still able to fly through this one in a little over an hour.
This book counts for Popsugar 2022 for a book set in Victorian times, for the magical readathon for my character's background of urban - a book set in a city or town, and for Bookland for January 2022 for a horror short read.
