I absolutely LOVED this story of Vivienne and Xavier's love. This book was filled with so many funny moments, with the same amount of emotional ones.
Vivienne is the last remaining Grant sibling who is not married and she has no intentions of looking for love anytime soon. She wants to get away from her large (I mean HUGE) meddling family, so she buys a boat and decides to spend the summer living on it. What she doesn't expect is her grumpy boat neighbor to be someone who is already a part of her family's hockey world.
Xavier hung up his hockey skates two years prior due to some serious issues that were not being taken seriously by his time. So he decided to make the hard choice to leave his dream behind forever. So he bought a boat, adopted a dog and lived a recluse life away from everything that caused him stress and anxiety before.
No one has been able to break down Xavier's walls until his new neighbor comes in with her sunshine attitude and without asking him questions. Over time, he warms up to her and they go from nothing to everything.
I loved their trips out on the boat and their interactions with Xavier's dog Beatrice. But what I loved most was their conversations and how they were there for each other when they didn't know they needed each other. The way that Xavier opened up about his struggles and how Vivienne immediately stepped up to be there for him.
The ending of this book truly made me tear up. Both Vivienne and Xavier ended up exactly where they were supposed to; with each other.
I can't wait to read Tristan's book next!
