Have you ever finished a book and found yourself going "what the hell did I just read?" That was me after finishing this one.
This was my first experience with Straub's writing solo and while the writing itself was find, the story I was not a fan of. Honestly, I just found myself completely disengaged with the entire story. Read the synopsis for yourself, it actually sounds interesting, but it did not deliver.
Characters I didn't care about, with stupid nicknames that got on my nerves for reasons I can't explain, but that was one thing that really drew me out of the story.
I just wanted more from this. I wanted to care. Luckily, I have noticed in other reviews that most people were disappointed in this, but his other works are great so I will be reading more from him.
