I've know about the bullet journal since it popped up on the web a few years ago. I was looking for an alternative to Omnifocus and got sucked right in. I have been keeping notebooks since then.

Ryder Caroll seems like a very nice guy. I was happy to follow his personal pen-and-paper methodology gaining traction, culminating in the publication of this book. Unfortunately I don't think the end result was very good.

The parts about the technique itself weren't bad. But he meanders too much. Also, because of this verbosity and the way it's laid out it won't be easy to use it as a reference later. However, my real issue are the 70% of pages dedicated to Oprah-style self-help advice I could do without. There are much better books out there for this. He even quotes from a few of them like "Man's Search for Meaning".

I did get some actionable advice out of this book, so I'm happy to have read it.
