A Sky Beyond the Storm by Sabaa Tahir

It's almost surreal to have reached the end of a series that you've been following for over five years.
It is, however, especially sad when the book doesn't meet all your expectations for it...

Unlike the previous books in this quartet, A Sky Beyond the Storm felt rushed, the pace and plot almost incomprehensible and the characters' relationships almost forced.

There were so many moving pieces moving across the continent multiple times that it didn't feel.very structured.

The death, conquest and capture seemed almost senseless.

The characters reinforced their choices by using the same justifications over and over for the same issue and it got tedious fast.

Elias and Laia were very badly developed through this book.

A Sky Beyond The Storm, however, did conclude the story well - or, at least, passably well. There were times when I found tears in my eyes and Helene somehow ended up being my favourite character.
I would recommend the series for a binge-read.
