Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros
4.0
4.5 Stars
Welp, 440(ish) days, and I finally finished it.
This probably would have been a 5 star read if it wasn't for the fact that I DNF'd this book 295 pages in 14 months ago, culled half my Fourth Wing and Iron Flame collection and cancelled my Waterstones pre-order of Onyx Storm. I was soooo freaking bored at the 200 page mark that I stopped tabbing and at 295 pages just stopped reading all together. I do not like it when love interests are separated. I know it adds to the tension but I did not likey!
ANYHOO, I did get sucked back in though by the FOMO with the release of Onyx Storm, and it's the kick up the butt I needed to finally get this finished, and what a finish it was! I sobbed. Let's be clear here - I'm all the way back in. And I'm actually so glad I did it like this because now I don't have that sodding cliff-hanger hanging over my head for 14 months, I can dive straight into Onyx Storm, which is exactly what I'm about to do. Success!
