Dempsey by Brian Andrews, Brian Andrews, Jeffrey Wilson

4.0

This feels like it kicks off a newer path for the Tier One series. While I think they're best enjoyed in order - if catching up with the previous 6 books feels too daunting, you could start here. (though I'm always going to recommend them!)

The only thing I wish I'd known going in is that a lot of the suspense aspect of this is psychological and there' heavy emotional themes. It's not at all a complaint, but I kind of had to "reset" how I engaged if that makes sense.

Dempsey is off on his own dealing with political & organized crime characters that he never knows if he's being helped or herded by. The rest of his team thinks he's MIA and presumed never coming back.

Then! There's a surprise character who has never been a central focus before. On it's own his trials were interesting, but I'm so hoping that Andrews & Wilson continue to feature him in future books. I would love to see him more.

Narration:
Ray Porter rocks. What more can I say? I love listening to him. Paired with A&W - chef's kiss.
