Helter Skelter
by Kyōko Okazaki
Lilico is a beautiful young supermodel loved and idolized by everyone. All girls want to be like her. All men want to be with her. She is at the top of the world.
What she is also is egocentric, selfish, manipulative, superficial, narcissistic, cold and vengeful. She'll do everything to keep herself in the top.
And this is where my issue with the story lies. It's just very hard to read and watch the actions of someone like this. She is just too obnoxious, and I already have a huge distaste for the world of fashion to begin with.
If you can handle that and you're into a story of ascension and fall of a supermodel in a dog-eat-dog world. Then, you will probably enjoy this one more than me.
I also found the art a little confusing at times. The sequences between current events and flashbacks, and some of the characters are not easy to distinguish.
Other than that, it was a decent read, and a good edition by Sendai.
