I get what the author was trying to do. The style it's paying homage too is pretty spot on.  The ending of each story always felt like a punch line, not necessarily a conclusion.  It also wasn't scary, like at all. A little creepy sure but not freaky like the books this one is based on. And where are the illustrations?!!? You can't have horror stories without accompanying deeply disturbing art. I applaud the attempt made , obviously the author is a fan. I am too.
