Pirate Nemesis by Carysa Locke
5.0
I went into this book expecting just another space romance. I mean look at that title and the subtitle! However, I was blown away by the worldbuilding and character development. There are so many secondary characters who are as full of life as Mercy and Reaper.
What I long for in science fiction romance is not just relationships IN SPACE but explorations of how future circumstances will change families and how societies react. Likewise, what I want in romantic SF is to see how abilities (for example) change personal relationships. To have a perception skill that makes one a deadly killer AND a good lover was very interesting.
It is so rare for me to have both my sci fi loving and romance loving sides met in one book. Thank you Carysa Locke!
