It’s a cute story and this is my very first India Holton book. This one had a very interesting writing style, and the dialogue was pretty funny. Devon’s yearning and her constant flustered awkwardness never got in the way of their competency of their work. I believe that they’re scholars in love and their relationship develops in part of their dedication to their work.

I think I didn’t give it a 4 because I prefer more focus on the characters  and the development of their relationship, which wasn’t as possible with the complete and utter chaos that ensued throughout the entire book, so people looking for an adventure with very few slow moments would enjoy this.

I will say that I think this book could have been 60 pages shorter. There were multiple instances of repeated events that had no pay off, and bits that got old after the 3rd time imo. For as lovely as the writing was 80% of the time, sometimes there were phrases like “why do people have to people” which was so weird for me.

Regardless, it’s a nice read for romance lovers I think. I’ll definitely be reading about Gabe and his wife in the second book.
