The Last Archer by S.D. Smith

5.0

Love this book. It only took me a few days to read and that is with working, doing an online class for work on Early Childhood Literacy, and the busyness of things surrounding my mother's continued care after getting home from the nursing home.

This is one of side/offshoot books from the Green Ember series. This book is set during the first book of the Green Ember series. It fills in a little more detail about the suspiciousness of some rabbits, because of the betrayals, and introduces a new character, Jo.

It is a book of heroism and light versus darkness as all the Green Ember books are.
"I hope you gain all you aim for and strike the target in its middlemost heart," Smalls said.
Jo felt this genuine well-wishing like a blessing. He had no idea why he had so honestly opened up to this stranger. Smalls was young, yes, but when Jo looked into his eyes, he saw a deep well." (pg 67)

I highly recommend this book and this series... best read in publication order starting with The Green Ember.
