For Those Who Are Lost: A Novel by Julia Bryan Thomas

4.0

Starts at the beginning-ish of WWII, on the day that the people of the island of Guernsey had less than 24 hours to decide whether to evacuate their children to the England mainland, knowing they were about to be occupied. (IRL, about 5000 children were evacuated with their teachers) Each chapter is from a different pov: an older boy, a mom and dad who chose to send their kids to safety, a lady who takes charge of the younger sister of the older boy the people who take in the children. Excellent historical fiction. Horrible decisions that people were forced to make, and then live with. Lives changed in an instant.

Highly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
